BCT has been working in Dharwad district for almost a decade in the field of HIV/AIDS with educational and prevention projects targeted at high risk population such as female sex workers, truck drivers and sexual minorities.
Working with peer educators, who have close relationships with communities, BCT aims at reverting the spread of the virus and inculcating safer sexual practices among the target population.
BCT's health, prevention and education projects have now expanded to include the dependants of persons infected or affected by HIV/AIDS to provide holistic support to some of the most vulnerable members of the community.
BCT Hubli runs two programs with the support of Deshpande Foundation. Inchara, a foster care program for women and children affected and infected by HIV and JnanaJyothi, an additional education program for vulnerable girls.
